WorkwithSchools are fully commited to their supply staff and invest in FREE CPD sessions so they are fully equipped with the latest knowledge and teaching techniques to deliver first class lessons for our school clients.

Our latest CPD sessions covering EFL, Invigilation, Inspiring Writers and Computer Science have proved to be very successful with our supply staff and we’re delighted to have received such wonderful feedback:-

Thank you so much for the excellent training sessions that you organised for us. Having attended all three sessions, I thought now would be a good time to send feedback.

EAL – Very comprehensive background to important issues affecting EAL children and families, and for the implications for us as teachers and also schools on a larger scale. She did an excellent job of relating the issues she has encountered directly to how we can make small changes that will help children with EAL. I took away lots of ideas that I could draw upon readily as I enter classes that I maybe didn’t know ahead of time included some children with EAL. Very informative, very practical and delivered really cheerfully and energetically.

Inspiring writers – I really enjoyed this session. She also fit a huge amount into a relatively short session – I thought she was incredibly well prepared and resourced. I gained a wide range of creative ideas that can be achieved with ease that would provide fascinating catalysts for children’s writing. I enjoyed putting myself in the place of the child and really seeing how the props and materials generate ideas for writing. It was lovely to hear and see how children had actually responded with her tried and tested ideas. As a supply teacher, I think her ideas are very portable and applicable to any age when tweaked. I’m going to put some resources together in a brown leather suitcase (if I can find one in a charity shop).

Computing – This was really beneficial for me. I told the lady that she had demystified algorithms for me! I can honestly say I look forward to doing some computing without computers with a class at the next available opportunity. The session also introduced us to some excellent teaching resources that I am looking forward to exploring. I can now envisage how algorithm games and activities will capture children’s attention without even going near a computer 🙂 I have learned how to foster computational thinking across the curriculum.

Lots for me to reflect on and prepare in response to the sessions that will provide really rich teaching and learning experiences.”
