At WorkwithSchools we value our supply staff and are passionate about offering quality education to students in the local area, so after February half term we’re continuing to offer specifically targeted FREE CPD sessions.

These sessions have been developed by experienced trainers and are especially planned at supporting supply teachers, offering up-to-date knowledge and teaching methods to deliver the best lessons across a variety of topics for our primary and secondary school clients.

Last term our sessions, which covered EFL, Invigilation, Inspiring Writers and Computer Science, were a huge success and we received some wonderful feedback.

This year we are focussing on the following areas;

FREE CPD creative writing course for WorkwithSchools supply teachersCreative Writing – Word building and stimulating SPAGTuesday 5th March
This is the second in our series of creative writing workshops, especially designed for supply teachers.  In this session we will be looking at how to build language development while making SPAG lessons more stimulating.  Once again the creative Miss Tycal will be inspiring teachers with her magical ideas.

Maths Mastery – Keeping up to date with resources and new initiatives – Tuesday 12th March
In this session we are pleased to present a range of resources available free to supply teachers to enable them to quickly differentiate in unknown classes to meet all students’ needs.  Practical, hands on and with a variety of strategies aimed at improving subject teaching and student attainment.

SEN – an overview of what to expect and how to support students effectively – Tuesday 19th March
In the world of inclusion and SEN, we need to ensure practice responds to current developments.  This practical support session will provide an overview of current SEN in schools as well as where to access resources to support those in need.

EYFS child led CPD session with WorkwithSchools

EYFS – child led learning in the early years – Wednesday 27th March
What is child led learning and how can it be implemented?  Is there a place for it in a rigid curriculum?  With an increasing number of schools moving towards child led learning, this is a hot topic and our workshop trainer will inspire you with innovative and ground breaking ideas.

All sessions are to take place at our WorkwithYork Pavement office (22 The Pavement) and sessions will be starting at 5pm to give our supply teachers more time to get there.  The first three are on a Tuesday and the last one is on a Wednesday.

Tea / coffee and nibbles will be provided.

Places are limited and going fast, so please do get back to us as soon as you can if you are interested and wish to participate in any or all of them. If you are given a place and later find you can’t attend, please do let us know so we can give the place to someone else.

We welcome ideas from our supply team so if there’s an area you think we can support with, please get in touch with Ellis Campbell on 01904 554195.

For more information on dates, times and content of the above courses, all registered WorkwithSchools staff will be able to access this on our NEW members area – coming soon!

To be eligible for our CPD sessions you need to be a supply teacher registered with WorkwithSchools.  For more info and to enquire about spaces on any of our courses please get in touch on 01904 554195.
