WorkwithSchools are proud sponsors of both “Teacher of the Year” and “School of the Year” at this year’s York Community Pride Awards, which we have supported for the third year running.
For ‘Teacher of the Year’ it’s for someone who, through their enthusiasm and commitment, can truly inspire their pupils. To be nominated for ‘School of the Year’ it should be a school that has had a positive impact on its pupils and the wider community.
Together with the main sponsor Benenden Healthcare and other local business sponsors including CPP, City of York Council, Pryers Solicitors, Savilles Audio & Visual, Aviva, Hungate York, York Racecourse and First we are ensuring local individuals and groups get the recognition they deserve for the great work they do in our community.
To date there’s been a number of nominations received by York Press for teachers and schools who go above and beyond in their role. Please take a look at some of the nominees and reasons they’ve been put forward below. Maybe you know a teacher at your child’s school or a school near you who are worthy contenders?
If you know of an inspirational teacher in the York area or a school that reaches out and does great work with its pupils and community and worthy of this recognition, then get voting today.
Deadline to receive all votes is Friday 27 July 2018 and the ceremony is to be held on Thursday 18th October 2018.
How to vote
The Community Pride Awards are open to individuals and groups within the City of York council tax area.
We will announce the final list of nominees for both teachers and schools after the deadline.
